THE 80 / 20 MAGIC

INDIA YOUTH FOR CHRIST

"Well known Economist Pareto discerned 13 principal ternds in our wide range of activities, which is now hailed as Pareto Principle. We are re-printing these findings of his, which makes interesting reading.

1) 80 percent of results come from 20 percent of efforts.

2) 80 percent of activity will require 20 percent resources

3) 80 percent of usages is by 20 percent resources

4) 80 percent of the difficulty in achieving something lies in 20 percent of the challenge

5) 80 percent of revenue come from 20 percent of customers

6) 80 percent of problems comes from 20 percent of causes

7) 80 percent of profit comes from 20 percent of product range

8) 80 percent of complaints come from 20 percent of customers

9) 80 percent of sales come from 20 percent sales people

10) 80 percent of corporate pollution comes from 20 percent of corporations

11) 80 percent of work absence is due to 20 percent of staff

12) 80 percent of road traffic accidents are caused by 20 percent of drivers

13) 80 percent of restaurant's turn over comes from 20 percent of its menu"

YOUTH TOUCH EDITORS TAKE THE LIBERTY OF ADDING ANOTHER OBSERVATION:

14) 80 percent of Missionary work in india is done by only 20 percent of Christians (or even less !)

நானும் சந்தடிச் சாக்கில் நான் கண்ட உண்மையை இந்தப் பட்டியலில் சேர்த்திட துணிந்தேன்:

15) 80 percent of the Indian population which lives in villages are served only by 20 percent of the Doctors.

Interstingly, the above fact which I learned from my Community Medicine subject in my UG made me think much about considering the Mission work and later helped me to choose MD (Community Medicine) as my speciality.
